I feel the need to rant a bit.

 Okay. I'm going to make a very simple request. It's not hard, and not directed at anyone here, certainly.

Can we all please stop hating Marius for not loving Eponine?

Please?

Seriously, this is the only reason I've seen people hate his character. "OMFG HE RUINED EPONINE'S LIFE!!11111!!ELEVEN"

Yeah, guys. Remember that time Marius stole ALL of Thenardier's money and forced them into poverty? Remember when him and Cosette shot Eponine? 

Ugh. I just cannot find words to properly describe how angry this makes me. Marius didn't do anything but fall in love with a girl that just happened to not be Eponine. It seems really wrong to say that Marius should have loved Eponine because she loved him. If someone told you that you had to love a person because they had a crush on you, wouldn't you be angry or frustrated?

And don't get me started on this "Eponine deserved him!" bullshit. No person deserves another. Marius is not a prize to be won, he's a person with his own feelings and thoughts and emotions.

Marius is a big boy and he can make the decision of whether he wants to be with Eponine or Cosette by himself.
